These were the best safety shoes I've ever had until just a couple of days ago. Unfortunately the top left lace hook broke off on the left boot. There's just enough of it left that I can still lace up thankfully so it's not a total loss.

I do work outdoors, and this did happen when it was -12⁰C (-20⁰C with windchill) so that might've been a factor. It's useable but it's still disappointing, especially considering this pair is just 7 months old. Lacing up just takes a little more time and care. And so far it hasn't come loose. Yet.

I still love these boots as they've kept my feet dry and toasty, and comfortable even after 16-hour long shifts. But I'll definitely reconsider buying another pair over ones with sturdy metal speed loops.
